Job Description
Qualifications:
- AS, or BS in Electrical Engineering, related technical areas, certification in component compliance engineering
- Biotech or Medical Device industry experience helpful
- Familiar with component databases
- 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Component Specialist or Document Control Specialist
- Demonstrated experience sourcing electrical components and certifications to meet performance and regulatory requirements
- Deep knowledge of RoHS, REACH, WEEE – global Environmental Compliance Directives, EU RoHS
- Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems (Arena is a plus)
Responsibilities:
- Support the Electronic Component Management team in identifying electrical components that meets RoHS and REACH requirements
- Support all activities related to component selection, creation, qualification, life cycle management (obsolescence) and documentation
- Identify components that require RoHS compliance certification, obtain required certifications from manufacturers, submit certification into Arena and ensure that final documentation is completeÂ
- Manage diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages program to track component obsolescence
- Manage approved vendor list
- Manage electronic component part number in ERP and PLM systems
- Produce reports to management as directed
