Job Description

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (plus) 
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role related to DFMA, manufacturing process, product optimization, or equipment development.
  • Proficiency in robotics (6-axis), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLCs, and PC-based control systems.
  • Experienced in developing machine qualification criteria, conducting design of experiments, and performing failure analysis.
  • Experience in precision assembly, inspection, and automation equipment.
  • Leading PFMEA efforts 
Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate closely with Product Engineering and design teams to ensure products are designed for optimal manufacturability.
  • Manage all stages of product development, from initial concept through manufacturing and product lifecycle management.
  • Provide technical support for production engineering, including the development of complex testing methods, procedures, and failure analysis.
  • Offer feedback to Product Engineering to enhance quality, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability without compromising product performance.
  • Participate in early prototype builds to validate and refine manufacturability.
  • Contribute to a high-performing engineering team focused on delivering top-quality work and efficient project deployment.
  • Travel to machine suppliers and contract manufacturers to oversee equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Lead efforts to evolve and optimize Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly processes for products, ensuring efficient, safe, and sustainable manufacturing practices.
  • Conduct DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) studies at the part, assembly, and system levels to improve design efficiency.
  • Perform static and kinematic studies to simulate assembly processes and equipment interactions.
  • Drive initiatives for part count reduction, assembly simplification, and embedding quality into the manufacturing process.
  • Lead PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), build sequence planning, and process layout development; coordinate virtual builds for new products with cross-functional teams.
