Assembly Technician

Job Description

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Electromechanical Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in electromechanical assembly, with a strong emphasis on cable and harness assembly.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in soldering techniques (IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of crimping best practices and connector types.
  • Experience with various test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and continuity testers.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform precise assembly of various cable assemblies for micro electric vehicles applications, including power cables, signal cables, sensor cables, and control wiring.
  • Utilize hand tools, crimping tools, soldering equipment, and other specialized equipment to cut, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires and connectors according to engineering specifications and schematics.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions accurately.
  • Conduct continuity testing, electrical resistance checks, and other functional tests on completed cable assemblies using multimeters, continuity testers, and specialized test fixtures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot defects or issues in cable assemblies, performing necessary repairs or rework to meet quality standards.
  • Ensure all assembled components meet strict quality control standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including build sheets, test results, and any identified discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve assembly processes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of assembly procedures and tooling.
  • May assist with other electromechanical assembly tasks as needed.
