Chemical Technician
Job Description
Qualifications:
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Laboratory Chemistry
- Proven production experience with strong chemistry foundation
- Skilled in wet chemical processing, surface preparation, plating, and etching
- Proficiency with measuring instruments and metrology tools
- Execute chemical processes from SOPs with accuracy and precision
- Strong organizational and data recording skills
- Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, or JMP
- Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling, storage, disposal, and environmental compliance
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Cleanroom/microfabrication experience (preferred)
- Laboratory safety certifications (preferred)
- R&D to production transfer experience (preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Follow SOPs and work instructions to safely execute chemical tests and material treatments
- Prepare chemical solutions and perform surface preparation using solvents, acids, bases, and reagents
- Execute electrochemical processing steps (plating, etching, wet chemistry techniques)
- Collect experimental data, prepare reports, and communicate results
- Maintain work area organization and cleanliness per health, safety, and environmental standards
- Safely handle, store, and dispose of hazardous chemicals and waste streams
- Track and maintain inventory of chemicals and consumables
- Train and mentor team members in safe chemical handling and equipment operation
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for process control, safety, efficiency, and quality
