Job Description

Qualifications:
  • Must have a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree (BSEE, BSEET) or equivalent.
  • Experience with FAT and SAT.
  • Preferred: Experience with the following: 5 to 10 years of electrical engineering experience in doing field startups, wiring, PLC and HMI programming, and experience in setting up variable frequency drives. Rockwell PLC/HMI, Siemens PLC/HMI, Magnetek VFDs, Siemens VFDs programming preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with using and applying the NEC electrical code. 
  • Ability to lead and work with others to maximize their productivity. Extremely important is the ability to be customer focused and work with even the most challenging individuals.
  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally to nuclear and government facilities.  Be able to stay in the field for durations of 1-2 months at a time with 20% – 40% in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical/software engineer providing technical supervision to team members. Collaborate with project managers to establish work requirements, meet schedules, and review daily activities.
  • Troubleshoot and modify computer programs like PLC and HMI code that automate business processes.
  • Read, design, and mark up technical drawings, ensuring configuration control through proper documentation.
  • Calculate electrical specifications for crane systems up to 800V DC and 4160V AC, using appropriate electrical codes and company standards.
  • Conduct Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, solving problems by collaborating across engineering, service, and other departments.
  • Demonstrate strong customer relations with a solution-oriented approach, focusing on efficient testing and equipment startup.
  • Provide design improvement suggestions to chief engineer for enhanced functionality and cost reduction.
  • Willing to travel 20-40% of the time and physically able to climb vertical ladders over 50 feet tall.
  • Work with project managers and purchasing to meet project deadlines and specify necessary parts.
