Arena PLM Administrator
Job Description
Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- AA or BS in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or Engineering, 1–3 years of experience in a technical environment, ideally within a manufacturing or hardware startup.
- Experience with Arena PLM, OnShape CAD. Familiarity with cloud-native CAD & PLM software. (Other cloud CAD or PLM software are also acceptable)
- Basic understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and Engineering Change management, part numbering systems (internal vs Manufacturers parts)
- Familiar with workflow between Onshape and Arena to ensure that "Released" CAD versions automatically trigger or update the corresponding Arena items.
- Familiarity with authoring SOPs, instructions, user guides…etc.
- Ability to train new and existing users on Arena and OnShape
- Excellent communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on-site in Emeryville 5 days/week
Responsibilities:
- System Administration & Support
- Arena PLM Maintenance: Manage Part Number (PN) creation, Category attributes, and Bill of Materials (BOM) health within Arena.
- Onshape Management: Act as the primary point of contact for Onshape user permissions, license allocation, and document organization.
- Assist engineers and designers with technical issues related to CAD data management, branching/merging strategies, and PLM integration.
- Support the small Document Control team in routing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Requests (ECRs).
- Help draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for file naming conventions, release workflows, and revision control.
- Assist in transitioning the team from "startup speed" to "scalable process" by enforcing data integrity standards.
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new hires on how to use Onshape and Arena according to internal standards
