Job Description

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in environmental, health, and safety roles, with minimum 1 year working within an EHS team and/or program
  • Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety and health programs
  • Manufacturing environment experience required
  • Experience in a startup environment in growth mode, preferably within aerospace, aviation, or electric vehicle manufacturing
  • Knowledge of aircraft development environment and associated safety protocols preferred
  • Proactive safety mindset with ability to embed safety into daily operations and encourage open dialogue on safety concerns
  • Customer-focused approach with commitment to delivering exceptional value and exceeding expectations
  • Experience managing company projects or onsite vendors while providing safety improvement recommendations and ensuring EH&S compliance
  • Background in conducting safety training and participating in accident investigations with root cause analysis
  • Physical ability to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds, wear PPE for extended periods, and work in shop environments with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals
  • Ability to remain stationary for prolonged periods and move regularly throughout facility for supervision and staff interaction

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace
  • Partner with operations, leadership, and employees to promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance
  • Create and implement safety plans while ensuring daily compliance and adherence
  • Conduct regular safety observations, audits, and inspections
  • Participate in all onsite evolutions requiring Emergency Response Team (ERT) participation
  • Travel locally to field locations to oversee field exercises
  • Educate employees on safety standards, expectations, and safe machinery operation
  • Manage and coordinate specific company projects and onsite vendors to meet EH&S objectives
  • Conduct accident investigations to identify causes and develop safety improvement recommendations
  • Provide safety training and education to coworkers
  • Supervise work conditions and interact with staff throughout the facility
