- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. 5+ years of hands-on experience in a senior technical role (Test Engineering) - embedded systems, PCB’s design and electronics manufacturing.
- Test experience - StandardsBoundary Scan (JTAG), In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Test (FCT), PXI/LXI instrumentation, Analog & Digital components (TTL/LS, CMOS, LSI).
- Embedded Bus ArchitecturesVMEbus, VPX, CompactPCI (cPCI), PMC/XMC, ISA/PCI. Programmable Logic (FPGAs/CPLDs) and their application on Printed Circuit Assemblies (PCAs).
- Experience with PCB Layout tools for designing test fixtures and adapters.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and LabVIEW. Hardware Tools Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Digital Multimeters (DMM).
- Comfortable working across diverse Operating Systems, including Legacy OS (DOS, Solaris, VxWorks) and modern platforms (Windows, Linux).
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot "orphaned" technology and act as the final point of escalation for complex technical failures.
Responsibilities:
- Automated Test Development: Design and implement Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems for legacy embedded boards using modern hardware and software interfaces.
- Systems Integration & Debugging: Perform deep-dive debugging at both the component and systems level, particularly for product migrations where intellectual property (IP) or documentation may be incomplete.
- Hardware Adaptation: Develop custom test adapters and specialized hardware interfaces to facilitate the testing of complex, multi-generation circuit assemblies.
- Root Cause Analysis: Adapt and refine test programs to capture elusive failure modes reported by customers that standard manufacturing tests may miss.
- Project Lifecycle Management: Deliver engineering projects on schedule and within budget, ensuring seamless hand-offs to the production team.
- Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for Sales and Business Development, assisting with new product acquisitions and investigating solutions for constrained or obsolete parts.
