Job Description
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of electrical engineering experience in field startups, wiring, PLC and HMI programming, and variable frequency drive setup
- Proficiency with Rockwell PLC/HMI (2+ years) and Siemens PLC/HMI (1+ years)
- Experience with Magnetek and Siemens VFDs
- 2+ years of independent PLC programming (not just modifications)
- Knowledge of NEC electrical code application
- Strong leadership abilities and customer-focused mindset
- Ability to work with challenging individuals and diverse teams
- Available for domestic and international travel to nuclear and government facilities
- Comfortable with extended field assignments (1-2 months) with 20-40% travel
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical/software engineering teams and provide technical supervision to engineers, technicians, and other workers
- Collaborate with project managers to establish requirements, maintain schedules, and ensure customer acceptance
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC code and HMI programs for automated business processes
- Read, design, and mark up electrical drawings including single line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, and conduit drawings
- Calculate electrical specifications (wire sizes, drive sizes, braking resistors, transformers, contactors, overload protection) for systems up to 800V DC and 4160V AC
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures with customers
- Maintain excellent customer relations with solution-oriented approach to complete testing and startups efficiently
- Provide design improvement recommendations to reduce costs and enhance functionality
- Work with project managers and purchasing to meet deadlines and specify parts
