Job Description

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Related work experience in an Electrical Engineering/PLC environment, preferably 0-2 years of exposure to heat processing equipment or related equipment design
  • Experience in PLC programming is highly desired
  • Familiarity with systems integration aspects including PLC, HMI, instrumentation, networking, communication, and power distribution
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical
  • Knowledge of gas trains and associated codes
  • Understanding of compliance requirements like NFPA, NEC, UL, CE, and OSHA
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculations involving units, whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to accurately record and log information
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, environment with strong decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in general office software like Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems
  • Aptitude to comprehend and carry out instructions provided verbally, in writing, or diagrammatically

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement control systems utilizing PLCs, relays, contactors, devices (RTDs, transmitters, switches, etc.), electrical schematics, and BOMs
  • Write sequence of operations documentation
  • Adhere to established engineering standards, policies, and procedures
  • Utilize AutoCAD Electrical, other design software, and equipment for engineering tasks  
  • Possess general understanding of sales contracts to define critical project criteria and ensure completion within budget
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism in structuring activities, creativity, teamwork, client handling, addressing changing needs, decision-making, and problem-solving
  • Directly communicate with clients or project managers for approvals, required information, and progress reports
  • Monitor compliance with client criteria as well as all relevant National, NFPA, and UL codes
  • Maintain accurate and neat records and documentation
