Job Description
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 4 years of experience managing an electronics/electromechanical laboratory
- Proficient in the following skills:
- Soldering and reworking printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
- Building and reworking multi-conductor cable assemblies, including power and signal cables
- Constructing and modifying power distribution boxes with circuit breakers, bus bars, and cable harnesses
- Supporting engineering tests and experiments, including data collection
- Experienced with a variety of test and diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, and thermal/humidity chambers
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating closely with engineering teams
Responsibilities:
- Manage two electronics labs to ensure compliance with company standards
- Maintain proper organization, cleanliness, and stock of tools, components, and equipment in the labs
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of lab equipment, including prototype PCB routers and environmental chambers
- Coordinate with facilities for any new or updated lab infrastructure, such as power, water, and air connections
- Assist with reworking PCBs, including through-hole, surface mount, and reflow soldering, as well as cable assembly tasks
- Build and modify enclosures to house lab equipment, including drilling, cutting, and mounting components
- Provide engineering test support by setting up fixtures, collecting data, and troubleshooting prototypes
