Equipment Technician/Equipment Engineer

Job Description

Qualifications:
  • AS/BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years’ experience in a Sustaining Engineer or Equipment Engineer in Semiconductor Equipment or complex electromechanical equipment
  • Experience in maintaining complex tools in a wafer manufacturing setting – running several processes -  consisting of optical systems, high-powered lasers, motion control systems
  • Experience in Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement, Technical Support, Change Management, Product Life Cycle Management
  • Strong experience in Preventative Maintenance
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Familiarity with facilities related services such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, vent hoods…etc.
  • Strong communication skills, documentation skills, attention to detail

Responsibilities:
 
  • Support the managing and maintaining Fab tools running multiple processes
  • Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Investigating and diagnosing complex technical issues, defects, or failures in equipment reported by customers or manufacturing teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance a product's performance, reliability, and manufacturability. This can involve implementing design modifications, improving software, or updating manufacturing processes to reduce costs and increase yields.
  • Technical Support: Serving as a subject matter expert for existing equipment, providing support to internal teams (e.g., field service, customer support) and external customers to resolve issues and answer technical questions.
  • Documentation and Change Management: Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of product issues, resolutions, and design changes. They also manage the change control process to ensure all modifications are properly tested, validated, and documented.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage the end-of-life of products and the transition to newer versions, ensuring a smooth process for both internal teams and customers.
