Job Description
Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- BSEE, MSEE
- 10+ years of experience in developing firmware for embedded systems
- Experience in development of manufacturing test firmware to interface with test stations/test stands
- Strong familiarity with CAN serial bus interface (Controller Area Network), UART
- Experience with integrating and testing of microcontrollers
- C/C++, Python, LabView
- Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering teams
- Experience in developing firmware for embedded systems for power converters, energy storage converters or clean energy storage is helpful
Responsibilities:
- Support development of manufacturing test firmware
- Review, update and correct existing test firmware based on open tickets
- Convert commands in existing firmware from UART to CAN
- Support firmware architecture decisions and implementation in embedded systems in compliance with safety standards for hardware products
- Support functional safety activities during the entire product development life cycle, including concept, requirements gathering, design, risk analysis, verification/validation, and release, working with a broad set of design engineers, program managers, and test engineers
- Work systems, electrical, and firmware teams to design new systems to support functional safety along the entire stack — from microcontroller selection to algorithms to communications architecture
