Hardware Test Coordinator

Job Description

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical, Computer Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 5+ years in a lab or hardware testing environment, experience managing the activities of a test lab, with 2+ years managing external vendors.
  • Proven experience drafting Test Plans, Build Guides, and SOPs. Ability to interpret CAD drawings and electrical schematics to create assembly instructions.
  • High-level negotiation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex "lab-speak" into actionable business updates
  • Experience using Python for automating repetitive tasks, analyzing data, and working within larger testing frameworks.
  • Lab Equipment Knowledge: Hands-on experience with thermal chambers, vibration tables, power supplies, DAQs, and electronic loads.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, networking, and common communication protocols like I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD).

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee which DUT is assigned to which equipment and at what time. Understand the specifications and limitations of each piece of equipment.
  • Coordinate core test hw (racks) assignments between tests for different modules based on their configurations.
  • Own documentation for rack and harness builds, Rack Harness Tracking
  • Oversee sample transport, setup, debug at remote labs, remote audits of test procedures.
  • Proactively track project timelines to ensure testing aligns with critical product launch dates
  • Expertly manage JIRA workflows, ensuring tickets are detailed, assigned, and updated to reflect real-time test status and hardware iterations.
  • Author, standardize, and maintain high-fidelity documentation for Vibration (HALT/HASS) and Thermal Stress testing, and other reliability tests.
  • Create visual, step-by-step assembly manuals for test racks and harness setups to ensure external labs mirror internal configurations exactly
  • Debug Documentation: Develop comprehensive "If/Then" troubleshooting trees for lab technicians to minimize downtime during off-hours or night shifts.
  • Ensure all external partners work from the latest document revisions by managing the lifecycle of technical specs within centralized repositories
  • Executive Reporting: Translate raw test data and "lab-speak" into concise, high-level status reports for stakeholders and leadership.
