Job Description
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years related experience (journeymen certification preferred)
- General knowledge of estimating time and materials for machine jobs
- General knowledge of metals, their quality, machinability, and uses
- General knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance
- General knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for precision technical plans and drawings
Responsibility:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Operate precision tools, machinery, and equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.).
- Fabricate and shape parts out of metal, plastics, and composites.
- Properly and safely select, align, secure, and remove tooling and materials onto machines.
