Job Description

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related). Master's preferred.
  • 5-7 years in manufacturing engineering with focus on PCB assembly and electronic manufacturing
  • PCB design for manufacturability (DFM)
  • SMT processes, soldering, and assembly techniques
  • Test methodologies (ICT, FCT, AOI, X-ray)
  • CAD software proficiency (SolidWorks, Altium Designer)
  • Quality methodologies (SPC, Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Industry standards knowledge (IPC)
  • Contract/Joint Design Manufacturer experience preferred

Responsibilities:

  • DFM/DFA Leadership: Optimize designs for manufacturing and assembly, providing feedback to design teams
  • PCB Optimization: Collaborate on layouts, stack-ups, and routing for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
  • Component Management: Evaluate, qualify, and standardize components for reliability and efficiency
  • Process Development: Create and improve assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans
  • Tooling Design: Design and qualify manufacturing fixtures and tooling
  • Quality Improvement: Analyze data to identify issues and implement solutions to improve yield
  • NPI Support: Lead new product launches from prototype to mass production
  • Equipment Implementation: Evaluate and implement automation and manufacturing technologies
  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with manufacturing partners and conduct technical assessments
  • Problem Solving: Support failure analysis and root cause identification
  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction through process and design improvements
  • Documentation: Maintain manufacturing specifications, procedures, and change control
