Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related). Master's preferred.
- 5-7 years in manufacturing engineering with focus on PCB assembly and electronic manufacturing
- PCB design for manufacturability (DFM)
- SMT processes, soldering, and assembly techniques
- Test methodologies (ICT, FCT, AOI, X-ray)
- CAD software proficiency (SolidWorks, Altium Designer)
- Quality methodologies (SPC, Six Sigma, Lean)
- Industry standards knowledge (IPC)
- Contract/Joint Design Manufacturer experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- DFM/DFA Leadership: Optimize designs for manufacturing and assembly, providing feedback to design teams
- PCB Optimization: Collaborate on layouts, stack-ups, and routing for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
- Component Management: Evaluate, qualify, and standardize components for reliability and efficiency
- Process Development: Create and improve assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans
- Tooling Design: Design and qualify manufacturing fixtures and tooling
- Quality Improvement: Analyze data to identify issues and implement solutions to improve yield
- NPI Support: Lead new product launches from prototype to mass production
- Equipment Implementation: Evaluate and implement automation and manufacturing technologies
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with manufacturing partners and conduct technical assessments
- Problem Solving: Support failure analysis and root cause identification
- Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction through process and design improvements
- Documentation: Maintain manufacturing specifications, procedures, and change control
