Job Description
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 3-7+ years in mechanical design (ideally equipment, machinery, or automation)
- Strong CAD experience (SolidWorks or similar)
- Experience with pneumatics and compressed air systems
- Experience with precision components and tight tolerances
- Experience with manufacturing processes (machining, finishing, etc.)
- Ability to perform tolerance analysis and FEA (for stress, vibration, wear)
- Experience with product development and NPI (New Product Introduction)
- Experience collaborating with electrical/controls engineers on automated systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot performance issues
- Experience in equipment, machinery, or automation industries preferred
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical assemblies for micro-blasting systems including nozzles, pressure vessels, cabinets, and fixtures, and create detailed CAD models and drawings
- Develop compressed air delivery systems, abrasive flow control, and pressure regulation, and size components such as valves, regulators, tubing, and filtration systems
- Take concepts from prototype through production release and support testing, validation, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with electrical/controls engineers on automated systems and integrate motion systems (XYZ stages, robotics, or CNC-style positioning)
- Perform tolerance analysis, FEA, troubleshoot performance issues, and generate BOMs, work instructions, and engineering documentation
