Job Description
Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related technical field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Background in designing parts for capital equipment, such as semiconductor tools, CNC machinery, or automation systems.
- Deep understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and best practices for technical drawing.
- SolidWorks experience, EPDM, Agile PLM
- Familiarity with various fabrication methods, including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing.
- U.S. citizen or Green Card
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex 3D assemblies and parts in SolidWorks, ensuring models are optimized for both functionality and manufacturability.
- Create comprehensive 2D production drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure parts meet strict precision requirements.
- Documentation Management: Manage and organize Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation packages within the PLM/PDM system.
- Assist Senior Engineers in the design of electromechanical subsystems, including mounts for motors, sensors, and pneumatic routing.
- Prototyping & Assembly: Work "hands-on" with the engineering team to assemble prototypes, verify fitment, and suggest design improvements based on physical testing.
- Interface with machine shops and fabrication vendors to ensure designs are understood and parts are manufactured to specification.
