Job Description
Qualifications:
- No formal degree required
- At least 4 years of industry experience in mechanical design or drafting
- Experience with ProE, Windchill or similar Product Lifecycle Management tool
- Candidate must possess strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5
- Knowledge of mechanical fabrication techniques – machining, welding, casting, etc. – as well as assembly techniques
- Knowledge of Commercial off-the-shelf item libraries for CAD systems is a plus
- Experience working with engineers to hand off parts and assemblies for fabrication or manufacturing
Responsibilities:
- Review drawings from the mechanical and electrical engineer teams to verify compliance with ASME Y14.5 standards
- Detail corrections on PDFs for engineers
- Compare part numbers against BOMs and inventory
- Check GD&T specifications against fabrication methods for parts to check that design are manufacturable
- Manage Commercial Off-the-shelf Libraries of CAD objects within the various Product Lifecycle Management systems
