Mechanical Engineer - AEC
Job Description
Qualifications:
-
Bachelors of Engineering Degree from an accredited university 5+ years of proven design experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, Semiconductor or Laboratory industries

AutoCAD / Revit design software (desirable)
-
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Ventilation and refrigeration (knowledge of things such as poisonous emissions, excessive heat or humidity)
-
Experience in designing HVAC systems

Fire detection and protection (fire alarm and plumbing)
-
Understand energy management
-
Water, drainage and plumbing experience. Machine hookup, sizing of the pipes, conduit sizing and associated safety codes and compliances

Proficient with computer editing software, Photoshop, Sketchup or Equal
Responsibilities:
-
Create and draft mechanical/electrical/process/controls drawings for various types of projects
-
Design HVAC, compressors, chiller, cooling towers and mechanical piping that are code complaint, cost-effective

Must know how to use Revit, Navisworks, or AutoCAD

Familiar with the following design and calculations: duct sizing & static pressure, axial fan sizing, piping and duct pressure drop, pump selection, and pipe sizing. Process piping experience a plus

Assist senior engineers on projects as directed, Ability to read and interpret documents such as Engineering Codes (state or city), engineering specification, Ability to write reports, memorandums and meeting minutes

Ability to work as a team player and interact well with others

Be able to form working relationship with internal and external customers

Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy
