Job Description

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with overhead electric cranes or similar industrial equipment preferred.  
  • A PE license or the ability to obtain licensure is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate should have an excellent understanding of machine design and structural engineering practice.  
  • Experience in overhead material handling industry is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry specifications including CMAA and ASME B30 is a plus.  
  • Knowledge of welding and machining is required
  • Experience in Production Manufacturing Environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication plays a key role in this position.
  • Should be proficient with SAP, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to effectively communicate between frontline sales, customers, application engineers and project management.
  • Site visits for application and commissioning require the ability to work at heights up to 100 feet off the ground.  
  • Travel estimated at 5% to meet with customers, commission equipment, and inspect product at various manufacturing locations. Travel domestically and internationally required.
Responsibilities:
  •  Responsible for the Product Lines – Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes
  • Interpret order documentation including detailed customer specifications to determine scope of work and project plan.
  • Ability to search company archives to find records of legacy equipment.  Must be proficient in reading legacy equipment mechanical and structural drawings.
  • Perform engineering tasks using established procedures.  
  • Create equipment layouts, undertake all necessary mechanical and structural calculations to confirm designs and generate final mechanical and structural designs.
  • Create detail, sub-assembly, assembly, and installation drawings necessary to satisfy the order scope.
  • Write detailed work instructions to support field installation
  • Responsible for project planning, scheduling, design execution, and performance to budget and schedule from inquiry through start-up.
