Job Description
Qualifications:
- BSME, 5 to 7 years’ experience.
- Experience in Biotech Instrumentation or Medical Devices industries.
- SolidWorks, PDMWorks, EPDM, FEA experience is a plus (Consol, Abaqus, SWx Simulation).
- Proven experience in the thermal design of complex electro-mechanical systems, preferably within the medical device or life sciences industry.
- Strong familiarity with heat transfer principles (conduction, convection, radiation) and components (fans, heat sinks, liquid cooling).
- General understanding of electro mechanical packaging to facilitate air flow and cooling.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes (machining, molding) and assembly and test processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support the thermal design of blood analyzer instruments and their sub-systems, considering factors such as heat generation, dissipation, temperature control, and thermal stability.
- Develop and implement thermal management strategies to ensure optimal instrument performance and reliability within specified operating conditions.
- Design and oversee the fabrication and testing of thermal prototypes and experimental setups to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.
- Select and integrate thermal components such as heat sinks, fans, thermoelectric coolers (TECs), and temperature sensors.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of thermal solutions with other instrument subsystems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive thermal design documentation, including specifications, analysis reports, and test procedures.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise on thermal-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve thermal performance issues during development, verification, and validation phases.
