Job Description
Qualifications:
- BSME/MSME
- Medical Device industry experience (IVD – in vitro diagnostic)
- SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) (thermal, fluid, stress)
- Medical device development experience (catheter design)
- Experience in machine design – motors, control systems – helpful
- Familiarity with fabrication processes (machining, molding, stamping, extrusion)
- Familiarity with material properties (plastics, metals, elastomers)
- Strong communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills (presentations, customer meetings, design reviews)
Responsibilities:
- Support multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development of complex mechanical assemblies, layouts, models, drawings and BOM's for a variety of product development projects
- Perform detailed engineering and design of a variety of products and systems, medical devices, life science instrumentation, consumables, disposable
- Support iterative design changes, manage large mechanical assemblies, check for interferences, fit and finish
- Perform tolerance checks, tolerance stack up analysis
- Support all documentation activities, change control, release activities
