NPI Electrical Technician

Job Description

Qualifications:
  • AA or BS in Electrical Engineering. 5+ years’ experience in Semiconductor Process Equipment industry with a focus on assembly and test of complex electromechanical or optomechanical equipment
  • Strong knowledge of AC and DC power systems, wire harness assembly, soldering, including PCBAs. (J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610)
  • Demonstrated experience with PCB-level troubleshooting, component identification, and schematic reading.
  • Strong test experience in testing of complex equipment (module test, integration test, system test)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electromechanical assembly processes (torque specs, fastener selection, cable routing, ESD safety).
  • Comfortable using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, and programmable power supplies.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex mechanical, opto-mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and gauge blocks.
  • Familiarity with CAD/ERP/MRP/PLM/QMS systems ( Arena, NetSuite, SolidWorks is a plus).

Responsibilities:
  • Support NPI and Prototype builds
  • Assembling complex electro-mechanical, mechanical, and opto-mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Conducting module, integration, and system tests on electrical, mechanical, and optical systems, including troubleshooting and analyzing results.
  • Supporting engineering teams with prototype builds.
  • Developing and using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues with test setups, hardware, and software to ensure smooth pilot manufacturing flows.
  • Supporting the review of non-conforming parts (NCs), failure analysis, dispositions, and documentation.
  • Performing rework tasks such as cable crimping, soldering, tapping threads, cleaning optics, and re-alignment.
  • Applying structured analysis methods for root cause analysis and solution verification.
  • Defining, implementing, and improving products, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain for successful product launches.
