Job Description
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- In-depth understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and educate employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying potential risks.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying regulatory standards to ensure compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and influence positive behavioral changes.
- Experience with incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes, concepts, and methodologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Lean / Manufacturing industry expertise.
- Professional certifications in EHS (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH) and OSHA.
- At least three years of experience in EHS roles, with progressive responsibilities.
- Prior experience in coordinating EHS programs and initiatives.
- Familiarity with relevant software applications for data management and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Work safely and courteously, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as industry best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
- Lead safety training sessions for employees, educating them on proper safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the use of protective equipment.
- Investigate and analyze workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and provide recommendations for preventative measures.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal processes in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective emergency response plans.
- Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, and training sessions.
- Stay current with changes in EHS regulations and ensure organizational compliance.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance and drive initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, communicating and coordinating inspections, reports, and permits as necessary.
- Participate in EHS audits and assessments, addressing any non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions. Provides
