Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, Mechanical Engineering, or Material Science,
- 8 + years’ experience working in semiconductor inspection equipment with a focus on optical or laser device and system development and experimental application, laser processing of semiconductor and/or transparent materials.
- Deep understanding of laser-material interaction fundamentals and laser materials processing. Experience with ultrafast pulsed lasers and laser beam shaping optics.
- Strong hands-on skills in designing, conducting, and analyzing laser material processing experiments.
- Proficiency in understanding experimental data, analytical or numerical simulation
- Experience with data collection and analysis tools (e.g., JMP, SQL, MATLAB, Python).
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of innovative laser applications and implement novel laser-based semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment.
- Act as a subject matter expert in laser process development and optimization.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Contribute to the implementation of next-generation industrial semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Make key architectural decisions and influence the technical direction of products.
- Develop, operate, and maintain laser materials processing setups and procedures.
- Conduct hands-on experiments to characterize physical effects in laser-assisted material processing.
- Propose design improvements based on experimental results using data analysis and simulation.
- Identify causal relationships between observed performance and design parameters, and reconcile empirical data with first principles.
- Summarize and present experimental results to team members.
- Identify and solve technical problems.
