Prototype & Fabrication Specialist
Job Description
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in machining, fabrication, or prototype manufacturing.
- Strong skills in manual machining, especially on mills such as Bridgeport.
- Experience with sheet-metal fabrication, press brakes, and general metalworking techniques.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, sketches, and CAD prints.
- Capability to measure, layout, drill, tap, and assemble mechanical components.
- Experience building fixtures, jigs, tooling, or prototypes is preferable.
- CNC experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble manufacturing aids such as fixtures, jigs, and tooling.
- Operate manual milling machines, small presses, saws, drill presses, and grinders.
- Fabricate components by drilling, tapping, boring, milling, bending, and fitting.
- Perform welding and modify prototypes or existing fixtures to meet specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and refine designs or prototypes.
