Job Description
Qualifications:
- 3+ years CNC machining experience in high-mix, low-volume environment
- Experience with 5-axis or mill-turn systems
- Welding certification with strong knowledge of codes, symbols, and techniques
- Expertise in CAM platform (Fusion 360, Mastercam, or HyperMill)
- Strong GD&T literacy and ability to interpret complex drawings
- Consistently hold tolerances of <0.001 in / 25 ?m
- Proficiency in metrology tools and inspection methods (CMM experience preferred)
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium
- Skilled in manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, saws)
- First-principles problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Responsibilities:
- Interpret 3D models and engineering drawings to plan setups and program CAM
- Operate CNC machines (3-axis, 3+2, 5-axis mills, live-tool lathes, waterjets, laser cutters)
- Maintain tolerances down to ±0.0005 in (±13 m)
- Develop innovative work-holding and tooling solutions
- Generate efficient CAM programs and manage tool libraries
- Perform in-process and final inspections using various metrology tools
- Optimize feeds and speeds and drive continuous process improvements
- Provide design-for-manufacturing feedback to engineers
- Support fabrication of tooling, fixturing, and R&D hardware
- Document setups, offsets, inspection results, and lessons learned
- Uphold safety protocols and PPE usage
- Contribute to shop cleanliness and organization
- Manage assigned projects to deliver parts on schedule
