Job Description
Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering Preferred)
- 3+ years manufacturing & R&D sourcing, planning and procurement
- (defense, aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries)
- Must have sourced commodities: electronic components: AD converters, memory modules, microprocessors, and Delrin thermosplastics.
- Experience performing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis
- Hands on experience and oversight with: selecting and purchasing electronic components
- Be a strong negotiator & track record with developing supplier relationships
- Competency tracking orders, reviewing inventory levels, forecasting, quality assurance
- Track record driving continuous improvement
- Experience with controlling costs, on-time delivery
Responsibilities:
- Hands-on oversight of purchasing operations
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of direct reports: buyers and planners
- Ensure shortages are avoided: (out of stock material, back orders and mitigate material lead-time issues)
- Evaluate obsolete materials and seek alternatives
- Negotiate costs based on current standard cost
- Forecasting: Use data analysis to plan purchase releases
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Review performance metrics and process outcomes
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
- Create and execute resource optimization plans
- Partner with sourcing team to maintain regulatory compliance across all site operations.
