Job Description
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Quality Inspection experience (raw materials, castings) within a machine shop environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing & machining practices
- Ability to read engineering blueprints and spec sheets
- Experience with precision measuring instruments to check linear, angular and configuration of raw, in-process and completed parts to very tight tolerances (.0001")
- Performs inspection of raw materials and castings as well as finished parts from vendors (first article for pre-production)
- Uses precision instruments to measure dimensions - pressure, threaded ring and plug, bar, height gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, and surface plate work
- Prepares Reject Reports for non-conforming parts
- Verifies correct assembly of valves & controls, and determine that all required tests are performed
- Completes all records of inspections and vendor performance
