Job Description

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance within a mechanical manufacturing environment; background in aerospace, medical, machining, or assembly 
  • Experience with ITAR-regulated products or a similarly controlled manufacturing environment preferred
  • 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring quality staff
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 with strong Excel skills; ERP experience required
  • Working knowledge of CpK, AS9100, and IPC standards; experience hosting and conducting audits required
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools including CMM, micrometers, calipers, ID micrometers, screw gauges, and pin gauges required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely
Responsibilities:
  • Lead AS9100 audit preparation and QMS activities including contract and PO quality reviews, customer source inspections, exceptions, waivers, and product deviations
  • Develop and mentor the quality team, promote lean practices, and partner with leadership to drive a quality-focused culture upstream into suppliers, design, and in-process controls
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, drive corrective actions, and report monthly KPIs including supplier rejects, failure trends, and customer returns
  • Improve quality systems and inspection processes by analyzing data, refining metrics, and developing Cpk capability measures to strengthen MRR, IMRR, RMA, and CAPA reporting
  • Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance improvement by reducing incoming defects, setting pre-inspection expectations, and driving dock-to-stock readiness
  • Execute improvement plans across supplier quality, internal inspection processes, waste reduction, and risk-based inspection reduction where process stability data supports it
  • Engage key customers and suppliers to understand quality requirements, supplier capabilities, and how the supply base supports customer expectations
  • Independently perform the full Quality Manager role including ERP and e-SPC record management, product knowledge development, failure analysis, and root cause investigations
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams through daily stand-ups, staff meetings, and ongoing communication to ensure quality, compliance, safety, and operational excellence
