Sr. Electronics Engineer
Job Description
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Applied Physics, or related field
- 10+ years of experience designing analog and mixed-signal electronic circuits
- Expertise in precision, low-noise sensing and signal processing with integration to embedded microcontrollers
- Strong background in optical transceivers and data networking applications
- Hardware design experience including digital peripherals, analog instruments, switching supplies, CAN, RS232, USB, I2C, SPI
- Circuit design and simulation proficiency (OrCAD, LTspice, pSpice) and PCB layout tools
- Firmware development experience with embedded microcontrollers in C, Basic, or Wiring
- Self-starter with ability to work independently in early-stage startup environment with minimal supervision
- Experience with free space optics or optical communication systems preferred
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop analog and mixed-signal electronic circuits for next-generation optical transceiver systems eliminating fiber optic requirements
- Integrate custom circuitry and off-the-shelf components for optical communication and free space optics applications in data center environments
- Develop signal conditioning, differential measurement, filtering, noise reduction, and EMI control solutions for optical transceiver systems
- Design and implement firmware for embedded microcontrollers including diagnostics, auto-calibration, and system control
- Create product designs considering development time, manufacturability, usability, and field support for early-stage commercialization
