Job Description
Qualifications:
- BS/MS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in the development of automated inspection/metrology tools for thin-film semiconductor, disk drive, photovoltaic, battery, advanced manufacturing applications
- Advanced understanding of plasma physics and high-voltage engineering principles
- Expertise in precision motion control and industrial automation systems
- Proficiency in real-time embedded systems programming (C/C++)
- Advanced knowledge of signal processing and data acquisition techniques
- Python ecosystem (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) for data analysis and system modeling
- Circuit design and simulation tools (LTspice, Altium)
- Design of systems with positioning accuracy <100?m over 1m travel
- Implementation of real-time control systems with cycle times <1ms
- Development of machine vision systems with <100?s exposure times
- Experience with thin film measurement techniques (ellipsometry, profilometry, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Heavily contribute to the architecture, system design and validation of the low-temperature plasma-based metrology sensor
- Interface with a small, cross-functional project team to research, develop, and validate new concepts for low-temperature plasma-based metrology
- Perform fundamental studies to characterize and understand the sensitivity of the sensor performance to various environmental factors
- Closely interact with both small and large clients to iterate on the design based on their feedback, paying close attention to integration speed
- Create and maintain technical design documentation (e.g., requirements, specifications, test plans, wiring diagrams, part schematics, and test reports)
