Job Description
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–5 years of experience in a machine shop environment
- Comfort using basic shop equipment (bandsaws, belt sanders, drill presses, etc.)
- Experience with manual milling and lathes
- Good communication, math skills, logical thinking, and vision
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) as needed
- First-principles mindset — questions assumptions, breaks problems down to fundamentals, prefers root-cause solutions
- Experience operating CNC mills and CNC lathes (any model)
- Familiarity with Fusion and Fusion CAM (or any other CAM package)
- Basic metrology skills and working knowledge of GD&T
- Willingness to transition to permanent night shift (12:30 AM – 9:00 AM) within first six months
- Load stock material, tooling, and operate CNC mill or CNC lathe to produce precision components
- Cut parts using laser and waterjet cutters, and prepare and cut stock materials to specified dimensions
- Deburr, wash, and package machined parts to meet specifications
- Use inspection tools to verify correct dimensions and tolerances, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design requirements
- Maintain schedule to check and top off coolant and fluids, organize work areas, clean equipment and surfaces, and perform basic equipment maintenance
