Field Service Technician
Job Description
Qualifications:
- Electronics Associate's degree or equivalent field experience
- 2+ years in field service and troubleshooting
- Proficient in electronic, electromechanical, and electrical power principles; component testing in DC/AC circuits
- Any Fiber/Fiber optic cabling experience
- PC literate: Windows OS, MS Office, file management, software installation, admin tasks
- Skilled in configuring equipment: control boards, routers, switches, IP network components
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel, including overnight trips
- Flexible for after-hours emergency calls
- Comfortable with ladder work and bucket truck operation
- Strong customer service skills; works well under pressure with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electronic, computer, communication, and network systems
- Operate specialized tools, equipment, and related software
- Provide technical support to customers and staff
- Diagnose and repair electronic failures to board level
- Maintain records and prepare field reports
- Implement software/firmware changes on PCs and proprietary hardware
- Travel up to 25% outside Wisconsin
- Work independently with minimal documentation
- Adhere to traffic and company safety rules, including 5S procedures
